The Life Arts Center in Downtown Riverside was roaring with the laughter, cheers, and banter of the transportation industry as they participated in the Roaring 20’s themed WTS-IE’s 3 rd annual Casino Night fundraiser. The evening was fun-filled with casino play, music, and roaring 20’s swing dance performance. Hopeful players were looking to win big at poker, roulette, blackjack, and craps as they racked up chips that could be traded in for raffle tickets. Several transportation agency VIPs, including RCTC’s Anne Mayer, SBCTA’s Paul Beauchamp, RCTD’s Patty Romo, and Caltrans District Director Michael Beauchamp were guest dealers at the various casino tables throughout the night. Raffle prizes included electronics, gifts cards, event tickets, and themed gift baskets provided by many industry firms and local businesses. In addition to the casino play---attendees were able to network with colleagues and agency staff, take fun pictures at the photobooth, and learn some swing dancing moves. At the end of the night, attendees left with fun memories and casino swag, including reusable bags, tumblers, playing cards, and shot glasses. The Casino Night was a great success in raising funds for WTS-IE scholarships and educational programs, due to the generous sponsorships and support of industry and local businesses. The WTS-IE Board and fundraising committee would like to thank agency VIPs for their participation in the casino games, industry sponsors for their financial support, and local businesses for their donations to the raffle prizes.
